About Penumbra
Penumbra combines privacy with proof-of-stake principles through a new mechanism called Private Delegation, which provides staking derivatives, tax-efficient staking, and blockchain-based governance with private voting. Penumbra connects to the Cosmos ecosystem through IBC and acts as a shared secure pool for the entire ecosystem, enabling private transactions with any IBC-compatible asset.
Users can also exchange these assets using ZSwap, a private decentralized exchange that supports batch auctions with sealed bids and concentrated liquidity in the style of Uniswap-v3. Batch auctions with sealed bids prevent frontrunning, ensure more efficient execution, and only reveal the net flow of assets between asset pairs in each block, while liquidity positions are created anonymously, allowing traders to approximate desired trading functions without revealing their individual price expectations.
